Reconciliation Package and Increased Fines

The original reconciliation package, developed by the Democratic Party, included dramatic increases in fines for violating OSHA rules.  Repeated or willful violations under Section 17 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act would increase:$70,000 fines would increase up to $700,000 for willful or repeated violations $5,000 fines would increase up to $50,000 Violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act would increase penalties from $11,000 up to $132,270.  And violations under the Migrant Safety and Protection Act would increase from $1,000 up to $25,790. What the renegotiation of the reconciliation package will look like is yet to be seen.  Please stay posted right here.  We may need to put a full court press on these types of dramatic increases in a more reasonable direction.
