FDA Offers Help with Traceability Proposed Rule

The Food and Drug Administration is offering several resources to help people understand and follow a proposed rule that requires more traceability recordkeeping for certain produce.  The resource tool explores the results of the risk-ranking model for food tracing used in the development of the Food Traceability List.  Users can learn more about the methods and criteria used to score commodity-hazard pairs, and the results of that scoring which was used to determine which foods to include on the Food Traceability List.  FDA also released a pre-recorded webinar featuring Frank Yiannas, deputy commissioner for food policy and response, and Angela Fields, a traceability expert with FDA’s Coordinated Outbreak Response and Evaluation Network.
