Frank H. Johnson of Hilton New York was a travelling buyer of watermelon. He was considered to be a prominent buyer of watermelon, moving high volumes from Florida and Georgia.

In 1915, when the association was formed, Johnson had been in the business of selling watermelon for 17 years.  In 1921 and 1922 he was the 2^nd vice president of the association.
